Thank You Vik of Vik's Rescue HB

This Givealittle page is a personal fundraiser for Vik.

It is not connected to Vik's Rescue operations or charity assets.

Any donations made through this page will be a personal gift to thank Vik for her 20 years of selfless service to Hawkes Bay.

The past 20 years, Vik has dedicated her life to helping animals in need.

She has never received a wage for the countless hours given.

She did it simply because she cared.

Vik has responded to many late-night emergency calls, reunited families with beloved pets and ensured animals in need receive vet care.

Vik has rescued and rehomed thousands of animals, working to find each one a loving forever home.

When Cyclone Gabrielle devastated the Hawkes Bay, Vik turned the rescue into an emergency shelter overnight. She opened her doors to animals in need and helped families through some of the hardest times of their lives. She even gave her own car to a man who had lost everything, while caring for his three cats until he found a home.

All whilst raising two boys on her own.

Most weekends were spent at fundraising events raising money for the rescue.

Sadly, due to declining health, burnout and a lack of support, Vik's Rescue has closed.

As a registered charity, all assets, including the rescue vehicle, must be legally passed on to another charity.

This fundraiser is simply saying “THANK YOU VIK”.

If Vik has ever helped you or your animals, please consider donating or sharing this page.

Every single contribution says "Thank you Vik."
