Thanking Wokeup for their services to the left!

As paid up members of the woke brigade, we were just tickled when Family First (not an organisation we would typically align with) created the database “Woke Up NZ”.

Woke Up promises to “expose the NZ businesses promoting woke, leftist ideologies.”

And they do! We were thrilled to learn that the likes of Warehouse and Foodstuffs are rainbow tick certified, and that Warehouse has a kaupapa Māori strategy. It really is the most comprehensive database if you want to know if an organisation cares about people, gender, critical race theory and the planet.

We would prefer of course they called them Aotearoa businesses, but leftist beggars can’t be leftist choosers.

And so, as it is Pride this month, we want to thank them. We are busy people, leading productive lives. We certainly don’t have the time to know which businesses to support and which to avoid, when deciding where to buy bunting for a parade!

So we are fundraising to send Woke Up a big bouquet of rainbow flowers, and a hamper of goodies from the shops we love to support! Our modest target to begin with is $100-$150. If we raise over $200 , the rest will be donated to an LGBTQIA+ charity. (We currently cannot confirm which charity as we want to reach out to them first if we get to that stage, but we will update!)
