The Adventures of Harlow: A Warriors Story

Harlow will undergo chemotherapy and surgeries for the foreseeable future. This page is to ease the financial strain in the months ahead.

Canterbury

Harlow (age 2) was diagnosed with Precursor B-cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia on Sunday 2nd February. She has had her first surgery on Tuesday 4th February, and started chemotherapy on Thursday 6th. She has a long road ahead of her.

Let's rally behind Harlow and give her family the financial support they need while they support her fight against leukemia. Harlow is simply delightful, she is hilarious, cheeky, inquisitive, stubborn and the youngest of 4 children.

I first met Tahlia and Ethan through their older children, on the sidelines at rugby games and at our local rural school. They have become close family friends. Tahlia is the first person to step up when someone in the community needs her help. Whether it's baking, making a meal or looking after children. I know I can always count on her to step up

Now is the time for friends, family and the wider community to give them all the strength and support they need to be there for Harlow

We are their village during this devastating time.

The money raised will be used to assist the family with extra costs they will have over the next few months. For example, petrol costs, hospital parking, loss of income, and all additional costs that will come.

Please support Harlow and her amazing family - thank you for your help ❤️

You can follow their journey on Facebook "The Adventures of Harlow: A Warriors Story"

Update on Harlow  13 March 2025

The journey of having a child with leukemia is truly a rollercoaster—a whirlwind of highs and lows, twists and turns, and moments that either crawl by or race ahead too quickly to process.

Yesterday, Harlow underwent anesthesia for another round of chemotherapy administered directly into her spine. The original plan had been for chemotherapy through her port on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday this week.

However, those appointments have been cancelled. Next week, Meonday’s visit will now focus on blood tests in preparation for her next spinal chemotherapy on Tuesday.

At home, Harlow continues to bravely take oral chemotherapy every day.

The family has learned to adapt to these shifts. They understand that changes like this are not the fault of an overburdened doctor caring for a fully occupied ward. It's heartbreaking to consider how many Kiwi families are dealing with childhood cancer.

Despite these challenges, the family remains deeply humbled by the generosity and support of friends, family, and the wider community. Your ongoing kindness and care mean the world to them—thank you.
