Van Urgently Needed To Deliver Supplies To Needy

$1,086 of $11,500 goal
Given by 11 generous donors in 27 days

The Awhi Shed is need to purchase a reliable van so they can continue to deliver food, furniture and other necessities to those in need.

Auckland

Based in West Auckland; the Awhi Shed have helped so many in desperate need of not just food but clothing, books, furniture and more on a regular basis. Their team went out into flood impacted areas last year and reached out to those who may have even been too proud or shy to ask for help but needed it.

Most recently they purchased and collected donations of stationery and school supplies for struggling families. Putting smiles on children's faces who may have shown up to school feeling disadvantaged because they didn't even have a school bag let alone stationery.

The Awhi Shed is run by a family who utilise their personal family van to conduct deliveries. Their van is not suitable for heavy loads and due to the high demand for help lately the van is now struggling to stay alive. The funds raised will go towards the purchase of a new delivery van for food, furniture, clothing etc. If their is anything left over, the funds will go towards the ongoing maintenance of the vehicle. They have been offered the opportunity to purchase a great Toyota Hiace that meets all their demands at a discounted rate of $10K (worth $20K). So that is what we are aiming to get them as a minimum! Photos attached is the very Toyota borrowed to make deliveries while their current van is off the road.

Let's help them help others! To be a blessing is a blessing to others and to be blessed is a blessing to us!

I am a supporter of the initiative that Tuafono has started in setting up and running the Awhi Shed. I have witnessed the impact that she has had on our wider community and see the sacrifice she and her family have made to make this possible.

No time like the present  5 March 2022

Hey guys, with the spread of Omicron friends, families, neighbour's are finding themselves in a position to self isolate again. Speaking from experience, it seems as though the support systems in place are struggling to keep up with the high demand of need.

That's why we as a community need to step up together and lend a hand where we can. I encourage you to check up on your neighbour's.

Please help support us, so that we can also reach out to those struggling right now. Make a donation to secure or transportation needs today.

2% Effective Fee
On average, fundraisers pay just 2% to use Givealittle. This is one of the lowest effective fees in New Zealand fundraising. We charge a 5% platform fee to cover the cost of running the platform. Because most donors choose to top up their donation to cover this fee, the effective cost paid by fundraisers is about 2%. That means around 98 cents of every dollar raised goes to the cause.
