Paying it Forward when it counts. Fundraising for a Dad, Husband, Friend, Colleague who has been affected by this terrible disease.
West Coast
We all have moments when we need that little extra to get us through. When we heard one of our people was effected with Motor Neuron we decided to do what we do best and support Jimmy in his time of need.
Jimmy King, Originally from Hari Hari on the West Coast of New Zealand he’s is a quiet guy who loves the outdoors. Jimmy met the love of his life Brooke 7 years ago and little Eli appeared 15 months ago to complete the family portrait.
They recently took the step to buy a house in Greymouth & married in April with an intimate backyard wedding with close friends and family.
Jimmy has been struck with an aggressive form of Motor Neurons and the effects have already placed a firm grip on Jimmy, Brooke & Eli's lives with a reasonably bleak outlook for the trio.
We have set up this page to support the family as it's unknown how long Jimmy with be able to continue working and the increasing cost of travelling to doctors and physiotherapy is taking it's toll.
A glimmer of hope.... Jimmy has Qualified for a 6 month drug trial in Montreal Canada which is still yet to be confirmed. This will be a costly exercise, uplifting their lives to another country with no source of income and potentially splitting the family up for long periods of time which they haven't got.
Operations manager of the company (Cable Price) that employs James King
funds will be used for:
** Living costs & medical equipment
** Assist with funds to attend a 6 month drug trial in Montreal Canada if selected.
Any additional funds will go into a trust for Jimmy & Brooke's son Eli
Thanks from the bottom of our hearts.. 2 July 2018
We would like to take this opportunity to say Thank You. The generosity has been overwhelming and will make all the difference going forward it's hard to believe that people care enough to donate such a substantial amount of money, this has truly been a humbling experience. So please accept our sincerest Thanks!
Jim, Brooke & Eli
