Pensioner needs funds for cardiac testing
Tututawa, Taranaki Region
I am a 70 year old pensioner - I have worked physically all my life / my partner passed over 15 years ago -now I live on my own . I'm off grid and grow most of my own veggies.
My life long heart murmur is now deteriorating and I'm getting quite exercise intolerant. Dr wants to do tests: holter monitor, exercise treadmill and echocardiogram. To do this on the current health system will take 1- 2 years but at present just cannot get the funds to go do this privately. With a murmur that suggests aortic stenosis it should be investigated asap- the heart is working harder and mildly enlarged and in this condition has been known to fail suddenly unlike a typical myocardial infarction . Also with a mildly enlarged heart your life expectancy drops.
All I am looking for is funds to get the base testing sorted so I know what I'm up against $2000. Any money raised over this will be donated to the New Zealand heart foundation.
I have been a life long clydesdale horse supporter and breeder. They are a soul passion for me but I find it very difficult at this stage to sell my two remaining horses to fund this. I really would like to believe I can get another 10 years with them around me till I'm too feeble to cope well with them. They will be sold to a good home as opposed to being sold for a good profit.
Test to monitor a heart murmur with exercise intolerance and a newly emerging arrythmia: Holter monitor , exercise tolerance and an echocarfiogram.
