Juliet's Fiji Village Project fundraiser

$2,010 donated
Given by 30 generous donors in around 3 months

Please help support me in this project to improve the health and wellbeing of a remote Fijian village community.

Auckland

Hello! I have been selected as one of the student volunteers for the 2023 Fiji Village Project.

The Fiji Village Project is an annual volunteer, student-based public health project aimed at promoting health in Fiji. Each year, a remote Fijian village is selected that is not connected to water mains and does not have a sustainable, clean, safe source of drinking water.

Myself and other medical, nursing, dental and public health students from NZ and Australia are raising funds with the aim of improving the health of village communities in Fiji. The project is two-fold, as students we are:

1. Raising money for the purchase and installation of a rain water tank, helping to ensure long term health of the village by providing access to fresh, safe drinking water.

2. Promoting health, providing health education, performing basic treatments and screening for health conditions.

Each student involved in the project for 2023 is tasked with fundraising for the purchase and installation of a water tank. If you are able to I would really appreciate your donation, no matter how big or small, to help in my fundraising. Your contribution will help make a difference for the lives of many!

If you would like to find out more about this cause please visit The Fiji Village Project's website: https://fijivillageproject.wixsite.com/international/home

Thank you so much!

Update: 2023 Fiji Village Project Cancellation  23 December 2022

With sadness, I report that the 2023 Fiji Village Project has been cancelled.

With the recent election in Fiji and the fact that a functioning government has still not been formed, we've been unable to get required approval from the Fijian MoH to undertake clinical placements at the hospital and village clinics. Further, with the uncertainty of the current situation, there is concern for the safety of volunteers with the potential for possible civil unrest. Taking this into account, the project co-ordinators have made the decision to cancel the 2023 FVP.

I will be returning all donations. I have directly emailed those who donated and left their contact details, however, if you donated and chose to remain private, please send me an email (julietalexandramartin@gmail.com) so I can arrange the return of your donation.

Thank you all so much for your contributions, I really appreciate the support!

Juliet xxx
