The Halo Project - Helping Otepoti Dunedin become Predator Free by 2050

$782 donated
Given by 10 generous donors in 3 years

We protect wildlife and habitat across 12,500 ha by controlling possums, stoats, ferrets, weasels and rats.

Dunedin, Otago

Predator control is fundamental to protecting both wildlife and its habitat - Habitat becomes safer & richer in resources for wildlife to thrive.

Predator control is helping connect and engage communities with nature and is contributing to the economic wellbeing of our farmers - protecting homes and livelihoods, and reducing the threat to herds from bovine tuberculosis.

Since 2016, the Halo Project has been working with the communities which embrace Orokonui Ecosanctuary, Mihiwaka and Mt Cargill/Kapukataumahaka. These are important connected habitats for taonga species and biodiversity.

By working in partnership with communities, organisations and businesses, we can all benefit from widespread and coordinated predator control across the northern Otepoti Dunedin landscape.

About us

Thank you Rosemary! Apologies for the delay in replying to you - we spend so much time outdoors that technology sometimes fails us. Your support is much appreciated as it will help us continue to remove predators from this landscape.
