The Kate Callaghan Trust is being set up to ensure Kate's legacy and work lives on whilst also providing financial support for her family.
Nationwide
After a brave, spirited and endearing fight with stage 4 cancer, Kate, aged 36, passed away late last month from stage 4 breast cancer leaving behind a devoted and loving husband Aaron, and two incredible kids Olivia (5) and Ed (3).
For those who don't know Kate, she was an exceptionally giving, loving and empathetic woman who devoted herself to helping others--especially when it came to health and fertility. Her own journey; from being told she would never be able to have children herself, to giving birth to two beautiful children has been an inspiration and source of hope, both locally and around the globe. Helping other women balance their hormones and overcome the challenges of becoming pregnant became Kate's passion and as a holistic nutritionist, she spent her life in pursuit of helping others and freely sharing her knowledge.
This continued with her complete transparency and rawness about her cancer journey. After medical professionals told her that her breast lump was "nothing to worry about", she fought to be tested; only to find out that she had stage 4 metastatic breast cancer. She selflessly brought us on her journey from diagnosis right through her treatment regime. She fought incredibly hard and her bravery, honesty and humility, as well as the incredible breakthroughs she made in healing herself--which challenged her prognosis every step of the way--deserve to be both celebrated and shared. Kate remained humble and even throughout her treatment, she continued helping others with their health journey. That's the kind of selfless human she was.
Family was everything to Kate and she was completely dedicated to ensuring Olivia and Ed live their best possible lives. It's hard to comprehend the pain and loss that Callaghan family are feeling and we know that there will be many challenges in the years to come. We are looking to ease that burden and create a fund that will allow Aaron to ensure that Olivia and Ed can continue to live their lives to the fullest, and ease the imminent financial burden as the family begins to navigate life without their Kate.
Your donations will also allow us to set up a trust in Kate's name which will ensure that Kate's research and work in women's health--as well as her incredible story, can reach as many people as possible. We want to ensure that Kate's legacy and passion lives on.
We can't thank you enough for taking the time to read this and/or donate. Truly, thank you.
For those of you who are interested in learning more about Kate and her fearless journey her Facebook page 'The Holistic Nutritionist' and Instagram @theholisticnutritonist are still live.
Thank you again for your kindness and generosity.
I was lucky enough to be a groomsman at Aaron and Kate's wedding and have had the pleasure and privilege to watch these two amazing humans transform their lives in order to have their two amazing children in Olivia and Ed.
To ensure Kate's two passions in life live on by:
- Ensuring that Olivia and Ed can live the best possible lives.
- Ensuring as many people can gain access to Kate's work and knowledge as possible.
