  • 100 Acts of Kindness - Update

    Kia ora!

    It's been seven months since we kicked off 100 Acts of Kindness and we wanted to send you a quick update to let you know how we've been getting on.

    As soon as the campaign ended (literally on the same day) Auckland was put into Level 4 Lockdown and pretty much stayed that way until early December. This obviously put a halt on some of our plans but we still managed to tick some amazing acts of kindness off the list.

    After lockdown ended in December, we moved straight into Christmas plans and opened the Christmas Joy Store, a social toy store that provided over 24,000 toys for children to open on Christmas morning. In 2022 we've been busy with helping tamariki go back to school with donations of stationery, uniforms, bags and shoes and we've just finished our first major build project with a community garden.

    We've officially ticked 30 Acts of Kindness off the list, some massive, some small but all impactful. This means we've still got 70 to go before we end on World Kindness Day in November with something pretty special.

  • Well, that's almost a wrap!

    It's been an incredible 2 weeks full of so much support and so much kindness.

    We are really grateful for every donation, every share, every comment of support and all the wonderful articles, interviews and media personalities who have helped share our story along the way. You can read / listen to them all at www.kindness.co.nz/media

    We've raised $53,874.00 in 2 weeks and for a little charity, that's pretty bloody epic so thank you so much. The link is still open till midnight tonight, so if you know someone who hasn't donated yet, share the link with them!

    Now comes the real mahi. Follow us as we complete as many acts of kindness as we can, some big, some small, all important and impactful. We're going to need some help along the way but we won't stop until the whole of Aotearoa is one big collective of kindness.

  • Vote for Sarah for Westfield Local Heroes!

    We are stoked to announce our founder, Sarah has been nominated in the Westfield Local Hero awards for Westfield St Lukes!

    It’s so wonderful to have KC recognised amongst some truly amazing people and charities and we are very grateful to those who nominated Sarah.

    If successful, KC will receive $10,000 to go towards our community centre, which will house a warehouse, social supermarket and more. We are currently operating from Sarah's home and garage so this is truly needed!

    So far we’ve raised $27,567 towards our goal to deliver 100 acts of practical, impactful kindness. That's bloody amazing kindness whānau!

    When you put $27,567 into tangible acts of kindness that’s 2756 pairs of warm winter pajamas, 275 weeks worth of groceries for the Refuge safe houses, 27 sandpits for special education units at schools, 1378 Christmas presents for children, 5513 books for low decile schools. The list goes on.

    We have some big plans and the more we can raise the more we can do! Please share our campaign with everyone you know, your friends, family, workmates, even the people you don't like very much. NINE days to go team, let’s do this! 👊🏼

    We kicked off #100Actsofkindness with a little watch party last night at The Attention Agency with some of our team, Mummys in Need and The Period Place!

    We are STOKED to wake up with $7,905 worth of kindness donated so far! 💜🌏 Thank you so much to everyone who has donated, we really appreciate the support.
