I'm taking a 3-month break to hike NZ's 3,000km Te Araroa trail! Raising funds to support my partner and daughter while I'm without work.
Nationwide
Hi everyone,
I’m stepping away from the daily grind to take on the biggest challenge of my life: hiking Te Araroa (The Long Pathway). I’ll be walking the entire 3,000-kilometer length of New Zealand, from Cape Reinga to Bluff.
For over 15 years, my reality has been managing IT and software development projects—coordinating teams, hitting deadlines, and spending countless hours behind a screen. Now, I’m ready to disconnect, test my limits, and tackle something wild.
Most people take up to five months to complete this trail. I am aiming to finish in just three months, averaging over 33 kilometers every single day.
Why I Need Your Help
Stepping away from my career for three months means stepping away from my income. While I’m out on the trail, the bills back home in Auckland don't pause. I am setting up this Givealittle page to help support my family while I am without work. Your donations will act as a vital financial bridge, ensuring that our household expenses are covered and my partner and our three-year-old daughter remain secure.
This hike is about stepping out of my comfort zone and showing my little girl what it looks like to set a massive goal and actually go after it. Any contribution gives me the peace of mind to keep putting one foot in front of the other.
PS: When going on the walk I will be posting my progress daily and add everyone who donated to the Instagram page so you can follow in the Journey!
Thank you so much for your support!
The funds will act as an income replacement to cover essential household bills and daily living expenses, ensuring your partner and three-year-old daughter remain financially secure back home in Auckland while you are off work.
