Let's help Aaron Joe beat Leukaemia.
Bay of Plenty
This is not 1987, this is 2021. It is time to put my terrible hair cut to good use for my mate and good bugger Aaron Joe.
Aaron was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukaemia at the end of January 2021, was airlifted to Waikato Hospital and started chemotherapy immediately. His partner and kids have had a tough start to 2021 dealing with Aaron's blood cancer, and travelling from Tauranga to Waikato Hospital.
The drug that Aaron needs is not funded in NZ, and will cost him/ his family around $19k a treatment. Aaron is looking at between 3- 4 treatments. All money donated will used to help fund this drug.
Aaron is a teacher at Omokoroa No.1 School, has taught my kids and is a friend and colleague of my wife. He always puts other people's needs before his own. This includes establishing his "Invitational XV" and Reserve Bench, motivating a large group of hair shavers to raise money for the Leukaemia and Blood Cancer "Shave for a Cure" fund. Aaron's incredible, positive attitude is an inspiration to us all.
We all know someone who has been affected by cancer, probably several someones. If shaving my hair, can provide financial support for the Joe family, get the razors ready.
Thanks so much for your support.
Aaron Joe is a mate.
These funds will be used to help finance Aaron's treatment for Leukaemia, a drug which is unfunded in NZ.
