“I would rather go naked than not wear a helmet”
The silent epidemic – brain injuries occurring daily in NZ
The Naked Challenge 2018 - Did you know, A NEW BRAIN INJURY OCCURS EVERY 15 MINUTES IN NZ? OMG! 90 a day!!!!!
With over 90 brain injuries occurring every day in New Zealand, the statistics are showing that more kiwis are affected by brain injuries than by cancer. The ongoing effects of living with a brain injury can be hard to quantify: with each injury affecting each patient differently. The Brain Injury New Zealand helps those directly impacted by a brain injury continues living a life they’ll enjoy; through connecting the right services and support to those who need them the most.
An event is going to happen on August'16th which also happens to be my birthday, and it makes sense for this to occur on this date, in my birthday suit. #LetsGetNaked
The intention is in humor and not to offend, but to make people aware how easy it is to unintentionally be impacted by a brain injury by not wearing safety head precaution in what is called a helmet. Whether you are riding a bike, or an animal such as a horse or even camel, how easy it is to fall and do damage, which you may have to live with for the rest of your life if you are lucky. Others are not so lucky. Our kiwi attitude needs to really change as the "She'll be right mate!" doesn't really do it anymore. We need to get it out there that it is "Cool to wear a helmet".
My event: August 16th, 2018 Location: Ruapehu, New Zealand.
I will be skiing down the slopes of this majestic mountain in my birthday suit (#naked), well almost, weather permitting. The correct authorities have been made aware, inclusive of local media that this is for a worthwhile cause. An Event in Facebook has been created and you can find it, called "Lets Get Naked". To sow your support for the month of August, a Title Frame has also been created for you to voice your support, called #LetsGetNaked. A live feed will appear also called the same, so what out for it!. Support a great cause.
All monies raised from this will be donated to: Brain Injury New Zealand, and shared between the 14 regional centers.

Having had a brain injury myself, I want to give something back to help others. Sometimes you don't know when you have an injury, and us Kiwi Blokes have to wake up and not shrug it off. Any knock on the head if worth having checked out as you never know what might be around the corner.
All monies raised from this will be donated to: Brain Injury New Zealand, and shared between the 14 regional centers. The target $50,000. Any surplus funds will be donated to Hospice New Zealand.
