Why a People’s Inquiry?
Researchers and activists have been working tirelessly over many decades to create change and raise awareness around the issues of harm from toxic chemical exposure. However, the use of toxic chemicals continues in agriculture, horticulture, conservation and roadside weed 'management'. The harm created is still largely ignored by those in positions of authority.
This must change. We see a People’s Inquiry as a catalyst for that change. We see strength in a broad environmental alliance. This alliance is working towards a deep paradigm shift for a truly clean, safe and sustainable environment for all.
The Inquiry is open to all New Zealanders and all people are welcome to send in their written, oral or video submissions. Submissions are only made public with the consent of the author. The Inquiry will gather people's evidence of harm from chemical and poison exposure. We welcome submissions from scientists and experts in these fields. The Inquiry will also explore existing and innovative solutions to the problems of toxic chemical use.

Seasons Greetings from the People's Inquiry 10 December 2021
Wishing all our supporters a safe, healthy and happy Festive Season. The Report from the People's Inquiry Commissioners will be released early in 2022. They have a huge task of processing all the submissions, both oral and written, that have been received. The 3 days of online hearings in September confirmed that Aotearoa/NZ has a contamination crisis and there has to be profound systemic change and a paradigm shift in mindsets to change this. Many thanks for your support and we'll keep you posted on any updates.
