This particular fundraiser is now closed - as between this and other sources we have reached our goal. Now we are focused on raising money to provide scholarships to students to enable them to attend. Dear all, we recently received this letter, from a Nepalese living in New Zealand.
Hello everyone,
I am Heena Sharma and I am from Nepal. I am currently living in New Zealand. I am writing this letter on behalf of my country Nepal and people over there to say big “thank you” for your generous contribution towards school project in Nepal. I would like to thank for your prayer, motivation and support towards this project.
In this generation education is one of the basic and important need and sadly still in my country people do struggle to get this basic need. There are so many places in Nepal where education is like luxury which can be afford by only by few people. Still there are villages where children have to walk miles to get to government school probably 4 to 5 hours each day just to get school and again same hours to get back home.
Due to so many reasons they don’t go to school and they are uneducated. So many people take this as advantage and misuse them. Lack of education is one of the main reasons for human trafficking in Nepal. This is the reality still my country is facing in this 21st century and saying these things breaks my heart.
I am would like to thank each and everyone from bottom of my heart for your step against human trafficking and contribution towards education. Thank you from all those children that will get education form that school for their bright future. I appreciate for your contribution for this school and step towards a bright future for many children.

I also want to acknowledge the tremendous boost the project received from www.ride4freedom.org and I know many have given in response to this. The ride is now complete - a wonderful effort that raised awareness and funds around the world, but of course the work in Nepal is only just beginning. Your ongoing support will be appreciated and will ensure that many in this remote region can thrive.

We have changed the target slightly to reflect the urgent need to complete this project, and pulled back the closing date to reduce the fundraising steps and total time involved.
