Fundraising to send two top New Zealand archers with Paris 2024 in their sights to the Pacific Games in Honiara in November. #EarnTheFern
Auckland
UPDATED:
Nuala Edmundson (19) and Finn Matheson (21) have been selected by Archery NZ to again 'wear the fern', this time at the Pacific Games in Honiara in November with the goal of winning a Mixed Teams place for New Zealand in Paris in 2024.
Nuala and Finn are topflight New Zealand athletes who compete in the Olympic recurve bow division, and each has had a very good year - Nuala has competed with distinction at the Trans-Tasman Challenge and the World Archery Oceania Championships, both in Australia, and at the World Archery Youth World Championships in Limerick, Ireland. Finn collected plenty of bling at the World Archery Oceania Championships in Australia in April and went on to shoot a personal best at World Archery Asia Cup Round #3 in Singapore in July. They're great young athletes and wonderful people, and a credit to us all.
So why do they need your support?
Archery is a small sport in New Zealand and to compete internationally is really expensive - and it's all self-funded. They need your dollars to help cover airfares to the Solomons ($3,000 return each) and entry fees to the tournament which are costly too ($1,600.00 each athlete). Any assistance you can give will be acknowledged and gratefully received. This page will be updated daily with news about training and preparation, and we'll keep you updated.
Sponsorships are also available, for more information please email lexie@mathesonsport.co.nz with offers and, of course, any questions you may have. #EarnTheFern

Airfares and Pacific Games entry fees. All other costs are covered. If the target isn't reached, your contribution will be given to Archery NZ and tagged for travel for these two athletes for 2024,
