Kia ora,

So last year I wrote a children's story set in the beautiful Bay of Islands.

It is about my wee son Reggie & his friendship with an amazing creature 'Willis the Whale Shark', there are some other very interesting special characters you get to know in the story also.

It had been a dream of mine ever since I can remember to create a children's book.

I would spend hours as a child writing stories & sometimes entering writing competitions however my battle with dyslexia was always my downfall. Over the years especially at school I struggled with Grammar / English, it never came easy to me. It was frustrating as I had so many ideas T wanted to put on paper.

So, although I still muddle things up now from time to time, I feel that through studying & writing uni papers (plus playing a lot of scrabble), I have concurred dyslexia & this story is the validity for me.

I was told that writing a children's book was a very difficult thing to achieve, albeit after lockdown & the birth of our son in May it happened. I suppose I had had alot of time to think!

Wee Reggie our little boy, my 5th child was the inspiration for this story.

I had the scenes in my mind & once I sat down to write, it all just pour out onto the keys on my laptop.

Once I had finished, I read it to wee Reggie & he loved it (mind you I could have been saying anything he was only 2months old - giggles to self).

I recorded my self reading it for my mum & posted it to FB, my friends & family gave me amazing feed back & encouraged me to have it published.

I am currently in the processes of collaborating with an illustrator & investigating possible NZ publishing houses & creative writing funding.

last month I started working on the 2nd book in the series, it has a very strong message & focus on the conservation of our marine habitats & the amazing creatures that rely on them for survival.

I envision there being a number of books in this series, all encompassing the beautiful natural world we live in & sharing a strong moral message of obligation to protecting it for future generations.

So I ask you please "HELP ME" in making this a reality....

Those that are able to assist at all with the support of funds to have the 1st edition of 'The Adventures of wee Reggie & Willis the Whale Shark' published, will receive a discounted signed copy of the book & piece of limited edition artwork of Willis & wee Reggie.

I thank you for your time & any support you are able to offer

Many Blessings ~ Bonsante
