The Lundt’s IVF Journey to baby no.2

In 2025 we were incredibly lucky to welcome our first IVF baby, Florence, into our world. We were fortunate enough to receive funding for our first cycle of IVF.

In June of this year we started a private second round of IVF in the hopes of getting pregnant with baby number 2. Unfortunately this round failed, only resulting in two embryos, one which we transferred and it didn’t stick, and the other didn’t survive long enough to freeze. As this was a private cycle - meaning we had to pay this time around, going for another round of IVF means we are having to pay again. It is extremely difficult mentally as Dion’s male factor infertility (azoospermia) means we can not conceive naturally at all and IVF is our only option for having children. Going into this next cycle is mentally, physically and finically straining however we do not want to give up our dream of having more children, and giving Florence a sibling. We have had friends and family reach out asking how they can support us through this and encouraged us to create a give a little page, so that is what we are doing. We would be incredibly grateful for any support even if it just covered the cost of travel as every appointment requires us to drive to Hamilton from New Plymouth.
