As a registered charity we deliver items directly to families in poverty. Please help us fund the cost of covered trucks to deliver items.
Nationwide
Our charity has found a solution to help those that struggle the most in our communities.
It's called the 'Community Needs' Project, which includes the 'Winter Needs' Program, which is still underway. We collect donated items, like beds, cots, bedding, drapes, carpet, underfelt, insulation, heaters, dehumidifiers, whiteware, furniture, kitchenware, food, clothing and footwear - for resort and delivery directly to the homes of families in poverty.
While there are charities that work hard to receive donated goods and sell them in their stores, toward their charity's works - there are many struggling families, in great need, who, often-times, do not have the funds to buy from these services, nor the means to transport the items home.
- Our charity is thrilled to provide a service so that the donated items we receive are given free to the families and so is the delivery to their homes.
We work with Health Service Providers, who tell us who the families most in need are.
Our projects benefit the families, because they not only receive essential need items, but they feel that we truly understand and genuinely care about their situation.
As we visit the homes of these families we see and feel the relief in their faces. They are truly grateful for the help given and many are moved to tears when we tell them that it is our pleasure and joy to help them.
As we are on their property, they tend to be more relaxed and they want to talk about matters that concern them.
Although we're in spring, the weather is still cool, so we're carrying on for a while longer with 'Winter Needs' Program, which has contibuted to helping families...
- be more comfortable, warmer, drier, healthier and happier over winter
- less stressed and anxious
and we hope it contributes to fewer children ending up in hospital over winter.
But, the trailors we are using are proving unsuitable for the job. This is because we have to wait for good weather to ensure furniture does not get wet.
Please help us fund the purchase of small furniture trucks, to ensure a more effective and drier delivery of items to the families.
We appreciate the help of our volunteers. We need however need permanent staff to co-ordinate pick up and delivery. Therefore, we would appreciate help with funds to meet these staff costs.
I am a volunteer coordinator for this charitable work.
It is heart-warming to see the smiles on faces of people who appreciate the service we offer.
We are a registered charity (CC51522), set up to reduce child poverty in NZ using a unique and innovative funding solution.
