Canterbury
This is an emergency, we have never been faced with anything like this before. I have some news. Some terrifying news.
As most of you know, the sanctuary is under some extreme financial pressure, after the rescue of 50 bobby calves last year. This was a huge undertaking, a rescue that was last minute, and not planned out. The sanctuary was almost fully self sustainable before this rescue, everything was running steadily.
After that rescue everything began to head down hill, the animals were thriving, but the financial side began to fall apart.
I have been managing to hold my head above water with the good will of a grazing company, but they have drawn the line. The grazing bill will be $15,000 at the end of the month. We have been told by the grazing company that this needs to be paid before the month is over, otherwise further action will be taken, they will take some of the cows. They will send them for profit. They will end up slaughtered. This puts their lives in danger. In serious, serious danger. I cannot let this happen, I never expected this to happen, and I cannot even imagine this happening.
Rescuing is hard, running a sanctuary is hard. I have taken on a lot, far more than I ever intended, I do this day in, day out, looking after these precious beings, and I need your help. I cannot do this alone, I cannot continue this way unless we can all come together.
This is an urgent, desperate call for help.
The cows need us all more now, than ever. If you can share, make a donation, have any fundraising ideas, or can help in any way, it is greatly appreciated.
We cannot rescue anymore animals during this time, and won’t be for a while until the sanctuary gets back up on its feet. We can never be in this awful position again. The grazing will settle, once our sponsorships rise, and our babies begin to wean, and the grass grows. We just have to get through this tidal wave first. I will never apologise for fundraising to support these animals. There are so many lives under my care, the promise that is made to them when they are rescued, to live a free, happy life. I owe it to them, to do everything in my power to keep them happy, healthy and safe.
If you believe in what I do, and want to help these gentle cows, please consider making a donation.
We have 3 weeks. Please share this with the world. Together we can save the the sanctuary.
I am the founder of Til the Cows Come Home Farm Sanctuary. The sanctuary has rescued over 150 rescued cows from abuse, neglect and slaughter, they are now able to live free of harm.
All funds will go towards paying expenses of the rescued animals under the sanctuary care. I have raised funds previously on Givealittle, and my other pages showing total raised are visible here: https://givealittle.co.nz/profile/individual/jasmine-hubber/pages
