Medical and sleep help
Auckland
Kia ora lovelies!
My wonderful friend Meg has had endless medical challenges thrown at her this year and many of you have asked how you can help.
I am fundraising to pay for five nights of a night nanny who will come and feed the twin babies overnight. This costs $350 per night.
If we can raise more that’s even better, but I understand times are tough financially. Absolutely any amount is hugely appreciated.
Last week Meg had ileostomy reversal surgery only to be discharged home and experience MORE pain and complications. Today Meg had to go to the emergency department and has been re-admitted for further assessment and treatment.
A brief summary of this years medical history:
-Pre-existing Immunodeficiency
-High risk pregnancy with twins
-Pre eclampsia and dangerously low platelets requiring emergency caesarean under general anaesthetic
-Twins born at 35weeks with NICU stay for Otis
-A perforated bowel requiring life saving abdominal surgery and landing Meg in intensive care briefly followed by three weeks in hospital
-Approximately 5 months of a stoma and ileostomy requiring daily care and maintenance
-Further hospital stays to prep for ileostomy reversal surgery.
-Chronic sleep deprivation
Meg has been an absolute champion managing all of this whilst caring for twins day, evening and night. This is all consuming and we just want to give Meg a better chance at recovery by giving her and her partner Greg a chance to sleep.

Meg and I went to primary school together and we are now on maternity leave together. I work as a nurse in the Emergency Department and I am completely in awe of Meg and what she is coping with.
5 nights of a night nanny who will feed and settle both babies overnight as they both wake multiple times.
