Thursdays in Black is a student and survivor lead movement working towards a world free from sexual violence.

Otago

We are the Otago University branch of Thursdays in Black; a student organisation who recognize that sexual violence is a significant problem on tertiary campuses, but believe that a different reality is possible.

We encourage people to wear black on Thursdays to show support and solidarity with survivors of sexual violence.

We believe the way to change statistics about sexual violence is to: see, acknowledge, understand and address these issues. We believe in the importance of raising awareness and providing education and conversation about the issue of sexual violence on tertiary campuses.

Stand with us. Wear black on Thursdays.

Use of funds

Funds will go towards our next events; designing and printing resources (posters + pamphlets + zines, oh my!), securing people and spaces for panels and screenings, as well as tea and craft supplies for our regular interactive pop up stalls around campus!
