Anthony is the only Maori male nursing student within the Tihei Mauri Ora stream 2020 that seeks financial support in getting a car.
Waikato
Anthony is our only Maori male colleague in our stream for Nursing. We are asking if possible for help so that Anthony can get an economical and reliable car to be able to get from his home in to Hamilton in time to be at placement.
There will be early starts or very late finishes and unfortunately public transport will not be running during these times for Anthony to get where he needs to be.
Anthony is an amazing colleague who has an incredible drive to help in the field of mental health in Aotearoa. He is very passionate and wants to help everyone around him. He is a great advocate for students who need his help and advice during study.
Anthony has been very determined in gaining his Bachelor of Nursing degree, and needs our support to aid in having a car for transport to make this a reality.
We are looking at a vehicle that is around $2500,00, that has good tyres, with a warrant of fitness, registration and insurance for Anthony.
As there is a high demand for male Maori Nurses, we are now asking for help in funds from our previous Tihei Mauri Ora Nursing Students who went before us and could empathise in being in a similar situation.
We are in Tihei Mauri Ora stream with our colleague Anthony, and have a 'Whaanau focused approach' in supporting our colleagues in need.
The funds will be spent on a car, tyres, insurance, and warrant and registration. The main goal we are aiming for is $2500,00. If there is a surplus of more than $2500,00 then petrol vouchers for Anthony would be purchased for his vehicle.
