Te Awakairangi School Stationery Drive - Together for Our Kids: Stationery Drive 2026

A grassroots drive helping Hutt Valley families equip kids with the essentials they need to begin school confident and ready to thrive.

SUPPORTING LOCAL STUDENTS IN 2026!

In 2025, the Te Awakairangi School Stationery Drive delivered 220 full packs across the Hutt Valley - a 120% increase on the year before. That was made possible thanks to the generosity of local families, businesses, and community groups who donated nearly $5,000 through Givealittle and contributed over 2,500 stationery items.

But demand is rising faster than donations. Families are stretched thin: supermarket staples like milk (+15%), mince (+25%), and eggs (+36%) have all climbed this year. Back‑to‑school costs often push budgets beyond breaking point, with packs at schools averaging $50 per child. (Before uniforms, devices and any activity based fees...)

Our mission is simple: to ensure no child in the Hutt Valley starts school without the essentials they need to thrive. We tailor each pack to the stationery lists provided by schools, so students receive exactly what they need to begin the year equipped, confident, and equal alongside their peers.

💛 A huge thank you to every single person who has donated to our Givealittle this year.  9 February 2026

Because of your generosity, we’ve been able to send out 200 full stationery packs so far - and we’re still receiving new requests today. We expect these to continue for a little while yet as schools settle in and teachers identify who needs support.

Your donations have meant we can keep saying “yes” to whānau who reach out. You’ve helped us chase specials, stretch every dollar, and make sure our tamariki walk into school equipped and confident.

This kaupapa is 100% powered by community, and we’re so grateful you chose to be part of it.

Our whānau will take a well‑earned break soon, but we’ll be picking this mahi back up later in the year as we prepare for 2027.

Thank you for standing with us and making this possible.
