It's time to offer support to someone who is always there for others. It's their turn to receive a helping hand.
Blenheim, Marlborough
Alicia, a devoted Mum to two young boys, much loved daughter, sister, friend to many (her Mum, Dianne mentioned it's a full time job keeping us all updated!), has found herself in a life changing battle with a brain tumor that we are still yet to uncover the cause of. As of yet, there is no clear path to what the future will look like, and what effects this will have.
The tumor has affected all areas of her life, and made her unable to care for herself, boys, and family as she once did. She has limited speech, has lost some mobility, and I'm sure is so frustrated, despite this, her sparkle is so bright, and her stubbornness and beautiful soul also shine through 🤭
Despite her own challenges in life, Alicia is always quick to offer assistance and support to those in need without a second thought.
Now, it is our turn to rally around Alicia, her boys and family and provide the help and support she needs in this hard time.
A few friends have put this page together to try and financially help Alicia and her family, while they navigate this. Currently (as at 20 July 2024) she is in Wellington having treatment for the next 20 ish days, whilst neurosurgeons and specialists figure out the next steps.
Sisters by choice, attached at the hip, each others sidekick! All thanks to the friendship of our oldest children forcing us to get to know each other when they were freshly new at school many years ago.
Funds will be to cover costs that arise during this hard time, including but not limited to keeping Alicias parents with her while in hospital and away from home, counselling for the family, medical care and equipment she may need, and adjusts to the home if/when required
