unexpected cancer leads to unexpected costs
Bay of Plenty
I have been Dental assistant for the last 10 years and I love my job. But unfortunately due to years of twisting and turning in the chair I have had to have surgery on my spine in February 2018 ... the surgery was successful.
I was on a return to work programme when a few months later on a follow up MRI the Radiologist discovered an abnormality which turned out to be liver cancer this was found completely by accident....
In some ways I am very lucky that this was found early, but my whole world and of course my families has been turned upside down.
I have just started an 18 week cycle of chemotherapy. While I am not at work the bills unfortunately still keep rolling in. The savings that were intended for my own dental work I have used to cover basic expenses and travelling for treatment.
I am hoping that when I am in remission that I will be able to return to my job and feel it is important that I keep my smile due to the nature of my work.
Setting a good example for children to look after their teeth is important to me.
Please help if you can
Thank you
I need to cover living expenses for the next 18 weeks if I raise sufficient funds I will get my own teeth fixed. Any excess I would help another cancer patient.
