Topical steroid withdrawl agony

Amz has had skin issues and eczema since birth and every time she's been to the doctors for help they prescribe topical steroid creams.

Over time these steroids get stronger and have to be used more frequently which causes your body to develop a steroid dependence.

The more your skin craves the creams the more painful, frequent and bigger the "flares" become between uses.

The only way around this is to stop using all steroids and let the body withdrawl from the drug. This process can take on average 3-5 years to heal and during this time you are in constant burning agony as you experience deep bone itch, swelling, redness, chills, insomnia, oozing, weeping, flaking, inability to regulate body temperature, nerve pain, hair loss, cracked dry skin.

Amz is experiencing all of the above symptoms 24/7 and as anyone who has experienced long term pain would know this also takes a huge toll on your mental health and quality of life, leading to her to be bed ridden most days.

I have decided to set up this page because raising a family of 4 on a single wage is next to impossible. Our family has been amazing but there's only so much they can do. Amz has been trying to work but due to her condition, has had to use all of her leave and is making it near impossible to keep on working during the healing process.

There is next to no help from WINZ or IRD because we are married and as difficult as it is we need to ask for help, at this point we have nothing to loose.
