Total Loss House Fire - Morgan & Ryan, Boston (3), Echo (1) & and dog Darcy

Morgan and Ryan bought their first home in 2020 in Auckland. It was the perfect home to raise their gorgeous kids - Boston and baby Echo.

Morgan discovered a fast-growing fire in the storage area under their house. She was the only one home and managed to escape with their dog, Darcy. Fire crews arrived within 6 minutes, but in this short time the fire had consumed the whole house. The cause of the fire was a lithium iron battery (not on charge) which spontaneously exploded.

A full home rebuild will be required, and thus begins a long journey for the young family. While Morgan and Ryan have house and contents insurance, we all understand the limits of payouts and how long the road to recovery may be. For the children's sake they'll create an adventure out of moving to some temporary accommodation for the next 12+ months, but they will need help from friends and family to navigate their new world.
