Please help Tracey to get the best care possible and to make the most special memories with her family for her journey
West Coast
Tracey is a beautiful mother of 2 children, Tiffany and Logan, as well as a grandmother to three gorgeous grandchildren Lakyn (3), Maddison (3) and Alice (3months) who are all with Tracey on this Journey as well as her Mum and Dad, her sister and many other close family and friends.
Tracey is the most positive and inspiring person I know, and although she is fighting a terminal illness, she is always willing to help others and goes out of her way to do so when she is able. Tracey has so many friends and family that want to help her and this is a little way of supporting her in her fight.
Tracey has been sick for a few months, been going between Greymouth and Christchurch hospital, it all started with gall stones and pancreatitis. From there her liver decided not to function properly. With all the bits and pieces going on and being inflamed they hadn’t been able to give a final diagnosis until a week ago.
On 11th August 2017 Tracey was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer and they will not be able to operate as it is grown around an artery. Tracey is currently looking at treatment options and her life expectancy. At this stage her life expectancy is 6months to 1 year as long as she does not get any other sickness.
Because Pancreatic Cancer is one of the most aggressive Cancers around, with a very low survival rate (5% of patients live for 5 years), we want to try and give her the utmost quality of life possible during this tough time.
Tracey is such a loving and giving person having dedicated much of her life to helping others and making the best life for her 2 children. She has spent a great deal of her life putting other people's needs before her own and now she is the one in need of some help herself. Giving back to a woman who never stops giving. All I wish for Tracey, is that she have the freedom to enjoy her days here and make memories with her family that will be treasured forever.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for reading Tracey’s story. We can't change the fact that we are walking this road, but we can help Tracey's journey be a little easier and try to give her the best care possible from here on in and the most special memories.
Tracey is my mother in-law, Tracey has given so much to me and always supported me, This is just a small way I can help and support her so she will be able to be at home with her family making special memories.
Any little donations will be much appreciated, all funds will go towards travel, treatment costs, accommodations and Tracey is heading back home to Reefton for the last of her journey so will need all medical and physical items to be kitted into her home.
