West Coast
We were given news today that has rocked us a whanau. My poor cousin Chante and her two youngest children were tragically killed in the car accident that occurred in Ashburton this morning.
To give you a sense of the kind of person that Chante was; she was kind, caring and generous with the little that she had. She is and will always be known as a person who had the biggest heart.
She was a strong person who had experienced and overcome a lot of adversity but above all Chante cherished and loved her children. The relocation to Ashburton for Chante and her whanau was supposed to provide them with an opportunity to improve their lives instead the move orchestrated events that has inevitably left her whanau broken and their changed lives forever.
Chante and her two youngest children will be reunited and laid to rest with Chante son who passed away due to SIDS in 2006 they are survived by Chante's four remaining children and partner.
Chante and her babies will be brought back to Hawkes Bay from Christchurch. Any funds donated will be utilised to alleviate some of the associated transportation and funeral costs and any remaining money will be used to support the needs of her four remaining children.
I am the first cousin of Chante and Aunty to her tamariki
Any funds donated will be utilised to alleviate some of the associated transportation and funeral costs and any remaining money will be used to support the needs of her four remaining children.
Update on 30/04
ACC has covered the majority of the upfront funeral costs. So the remainder of the money will be utilised to support the needs of the kids and also to pay for the headstone and unveiling costs for Chante and the children.
