House fire

Waitakere, Auckland

Our family home caught fire on late Tuesday night, with my parents escaping just in time. The result of it left next to nothing with all our contents and house destroyed. It's been a traumatic experience for us especially my parents as they spent so many years building and renewing the house just to see all of it disappear within an instance.

Our hearts are broken from watching our sweet home of 25 years turn into ashes. A true nightmare and unfortunate tragedy.

The fire was due to an unprecedented electrical fault in the ceiling.

We did not have contents insurance.

2% Effective Fee
On average, fundraisers pay just 2% to use Givealittle. This is one of the lowest effective fees in New Zealand fundraising. We charge a 5% platform fee to cover the cost of running the platform. Because most donors choose to top up their donation to cover this fee, the effective cost paid by fundraisers is about 2%. That means around 98 cents of every dollar raised goes to the cause.
