Trailblazers Aotearoa- A physical activity youth development programme which shares the joy of running and the magic of nature.
Nationwide
Trailblazers is an inclusive running and physical activity youth development program. Through the power of sport, and the magic of nature, we help build resilience to stress and develop social and emotional skills alongside the improvement of physical fitness. Our programme is for underserved and underrepresented youth, impacted by adverse experiences, neurodevelopmental delays/disorders and/or experiencing behavioural challenges. Our youth are Tamariki and rangatahi aged 8 - 18 and whanau in both school and community based settings.
Running has a calming, regulating effect with social benefits and 'sideways chat’ encourages more natural and relaxed communication. This approach is especially beneficial to children that struggle with social skills and anxiety. Dr Bruce Perry’s Neurosequential Model of Sport recommends activity with repetition, pattern and rhythm to help recover the stress response system and help develop resilience.

We would love your support to help fund costs associated with the programme- running journals, tops, shoes and an entry fees for an event later in the year.
