Carrying the cross the length of Aotearoa raising funds for Avodah Spiritual Respite and raising awareness of the power of the cross.
Hapuku, Canterbury
We have set this page up for Simon, here is what he has to say about his walk:
I am carrying a Cross to promote the Gospel and to raise funds for Avodah Spiritual Respite which aims to provide support in many areas to those experiencing the effects of addiction. I am endeavouring to walk the length of New Zealand and will be speaking at various churches and organisations along the way to raise awareness. Addiction is poorly served by our current government but ranks as probably the biggest social problem in New Zealand. There is little in the realm of detox and rehab services and community support.

Avodah run a residential service that provides spiritual respite in Kaikoura for those in recovery from various addictions.
Avodah is administered through the Kaikoura Vineyard Christian Fellowship
I have known Simon for a number of years and seen his heart for those affected by addictions. As founder of Avodah I also recognise the big need for supporting those affected by addictions. We are honoured and encouraged by the journey Simon is taking.
