Treatment!!

Raquel Goncalves (26 years old) hearing impaired immigrated to New Zealand with her parents in 2019, fit and healthy. Unfortunately, while they were awaiting on their residency during the covid times and with all the delays Raquel's health has deteriorated as she has type 1 diabetes.

2022 she had complications with her eyes and had to undergo two emergency eye operations which left her blind for almost two months of which her parents are still paying the bill off, as she is still not entitled to any funding as they have recently lodged and appeal with immigration as her residency was declined. With God's grace she has gained sight in her one eye. Early this year 2023 she was diagnosed with stage 5 kidney disease.

She is currently seeing a renal Dr monthly who provides her appointments at a special rate and is on medication hoping to delay dialysis or a kidney transplant in the near future, she also does monthly blood test and scans.

Raquel has her up and down days and needs to follow a special diet to help with the diabetes and kidneys and also needs to take medication daily to help her all of this is costly on the family as they wait to get closure on their immigration appeal so any contribution would help.
