Diagnosed with incurable cancer, Colin was put on hormone therapy but the weight he gained was unacceptable and dangerous
Bay of Plenty
Colin & Maureen spent 20 years as missionaries, but when they returned to NZ, they had nowhere near enough money to purchase a home, so they have been renting for the past nine years. Colin has been diagnosed with aggressive stage four prostate cancer. It has metastasized into soft tissue, lymph nodes, his right femur, and lower spine. He has tried a different hormone therapy, [as well as radiology] which he hoped would not cause so much weight gain. This has not been the result and he is now back on the original hormone therapy, hoping that more effort on diet and exercise will slow down weight gain. This has not happened, and Colin is still putting on weight, and has zero energy, much pain, and now heart problems [all side effects], so cannot exercise in any way. Having an angiogram in August 2019. They are paying $375 a week rent and relying on the pension for income. Their bank account cannot handle this, and they need help big time. The little savings they have are diminishing. Their own mortgage free home, which is what they had before they were called to the mission field, would be the miracle they would appreciate the most. Miracles? They believe in them!
I have the best wife in the whole world, and I passionately desire that she enjoys life to the max, for how ever many years she has left-----with me by her side.
Basically, the funds would be used to cover the cost of the natural treatment supplements and costly diet essentials. A large enough amount would be used to purchase their own home and they could afford the medical costs after that.
COMPLICATED HEALTH ISSUES 28 December 2020
I was diagnosed with aggressive stage 4 prostate cancer metastisised into my bones, soft tissue and lymph nodes, 4 years ago. I was not allowed chemo, but had two radiation treatments. I also had 2 hormone treatments which caused me to put on a lot of weight. I have been fighting this cancer with special diet and herbs, but 30 months ago I was shown to have at least nine blockages of heart arteries. This meant I could not exercise to bring my weight down. On July 31, 2020 I had open-heart surgery to by-pass these blockages. My wife and I are renting and have no income apart from the pension, so we cannot afford the special diet and herbs I am on. As of Dec. 28 I cannot exercise due to lack of strength and stamina. The hospital refuses to do an MRI to show what the cancer is doing so I have no idea if my holistic treatment is helping. They originally told me that the PSA would not give them an accurate account because my cancer is at level 9 on the Gleason scale. Now they tell me that the PSA can, so what do I believe?
