Making life a little easier for Trevor, Aiko and their 2 kids while Trevor recovers from Major Brain surgery.
Canterbury
Always full of beans, always helping others and making the most of every opportunity he can, Trev is now battling the biggest challenge of his life and needs our help.
A few days ago Trev had major brain surgery to remove 3 cancerous tumours.
All of this has happened in a very short time and is taking its toll on Trev, his partner Aiko and their beautiful kids Mia and Toa.
From the short phone call I had with Trev, surgery went well and the surgeon is positive that they managed to remove all growth but will need to wait for another scan for final results and now Trev will have a very long recovery process.
This is where we come in. Trev and his family need our help. Currently Trev is in Sapporo Hospital, a couple hours drive form Niseko, Japan where they live, Aiko and the kids are travelling a lot and staying in hospital accommodation when they can.
After surgery Trevor must go through the healing process before starting radiation therapy.
With a long road of recovery ahead, times will be tough. They now want to come back to New Zealand to be with family and friends as soon as Trev is comfortable enough and able to fly.
Trev is normally the last person to ask for help but we are asking for your kindness and generosity to help Trev and his family fight the biggest battle of his life.
I'm a very close friend, brother from another mother kinda friend for over 20 years. Trevor has just had Brain surgery and needs some financial help.
The funds raised will help Trevors recovery, alternative medication, living costs for the family and help pay for travel back to NZ to be with family and friends.
Back home with the Family 2 April 2020
Morning.
Well with all this madness happening around the world, I got some good news.
Trev is now back in Niseko with his Wife Aiko and 2 kids, Mia & Toa.
Trev had scans before heading home and the results are good. The first stage of Chemo and radio has definitely helped reduce the remaining tumours. This is very positive. Now Trev will start stage 2 of treatment close to home as he longer needs to be hospitalised full time.
Unbelievably, Trev briefly managed to get back on His snowboard a few days ago. Feeling fit from the huge amounts of physio over the last 4 weeks, while on snow he realised just how much his life has changed. I’m so happy bloody happy for Trev, making the most of life. Our last call was cut short as he was needed outside to help Mia climb and snowboard down the man made snowy mountain in the yard. Was so good to see Trev back with his family.
So for now, big T is super happy to be back at home with his family and ready for the next stage and ready to continue to fight it full steam!!
Niels.
