I'm running my first Half Marathon to raise money for The Otago Down Syndrome Association

Otago

My Daughter, Frankie was born last year with trisomy 21, Down Syndrome. As babies often do, she changed our world and our perceptions of parenthood. She has been the reason we have met many new, amazing people.

Our first year together has been filled with celebrations and with challenges, I would like to give a little back to the community who have been so supportive of us, I'm running the Dunedin Half Marathon to raise some money for The Otago Down Syndrome Association.

Special thanks to those who convinced me to sign up with only 12 weeks to train in the f*%*n freezing Dunedin winter! Plus I hate running so your monies is my motivation.

2% Effective Fee
On average, fundraisers pay just 2% to use Givealittle. This is one of the lowest effective fees in New Zealand fundraising. We charge a 5% platform fee to cover the cost of running the platform. Because most donors choose to top up their donation to cover this fee, the effective cost paid by fundraisers is about 2%. That means around 98 cents of every dollar raised goes to the cause.
