Help to Give These Girls a Chance to Become Gymnastic Olympians
The pinnacle of any sportsperson's life is to represent their country at the Olympic Games- and give their all for the glory of gold. We have a dedicated squad of girls training, who will be 16-20 years old for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics (a female gymnast must be 16 to be eligible to compete). These girls have won a range of Australasian, National and Auckland titles at the top level.
To give these ten girls the best shot at footing it with the world’s top gymnasts we want them to rub shoulders and mix it with the best from the gymnastic super powers. So in June 2015 the squad of girls will be privileged with the opportunity to travel to China to train and compete at three of the top clubs.
New Zealand’s Olympic sporting history is the story of how under-resourced Kiwi’s, through passion, guts and unstoppable determination have succeeded against the odds in taking on the world’s best. Behind these stories you’ll often find the generosity and support of their fellow Kiwis helping to balance the financial odds. We would love your support to help our girls travel to China through donation.
Our squad has recently grown from ten girls to twelve:
Caitlin Todd 15 years old
Brooke Dalton 14 years old
Bella Brough 13 years old
Tyla Bow 12 years old
Hana Roberts 12 years old
Alyssa Roy 12 years old
Hannah Adye 11 years old
Zoe Demmler 10 years old
Mandy Zang 10 years old
Lilyana Lu 9 years old
Scarlet Boxall-Hunt 8 years old
Sophia Alexander 8 years old
My involvement is to help fundraise for this specific event and help these 10 young dedicated gymnasts from Tri Star Gymnastics Club to be given the rare opportunity to train and compete with top Chinese national gymnastic clubs in China - Guangzhou, Hong Kong and Beijing.
