TSW Treatment to get my life back

    Hi everyone!

I will try keep this short...

I have now been back from Bangkok for about 5 weeks.

There was a lot of anxiety leaving the safety of the machine, the great team at the clinic and the knowledge and support from Jay (clinic director).

However, I am stoked to say (aside from an eczema herpeticum infection a couple of weeks ago) I am doing extremely well!

I still have approximately 6 years of withdrawal to get through, but I now have the best knowledge for how to get through this.

I can absolutely say I would not be where I am today without the support of all of you who donated to help get me to Bangkok for treatment and for that I will be eternally grateful.

Grace McMillan (yes we got married!!!)

  • Update - 2 Treatments

    Hello everyone!

We are now in Bangkok and I am two treatments in.

Feeling 1 million times better than just a few months ago.

Have had a little irritant exposure but that was to be expected when travelling and moving to a new living environment. Cam has been a great nurse and cleaner which has made my flares much more manageable.

At my first consult with Jay at the clinic he estimated that each "stage" of my TSW journey would be 11 years. This means if I were to continue to heal naturally I would start feeling a lot better in another 7.5 years. So I am very grateful to be here getting CAP to speed this up!

Hope all is well in NZ and the weather is starting to warm up! X

      8 September 2023

    Hi everyone!

A wee update for you all.

Flights are all booked leaving Auckland 25 September. My very supportive fiancé is travelling with me and will be my nurse for the first 4 weeks.

After this my beautiful Mum will arrive and take over nursing duties for about 7 weeks.

My to do list is getting smaller and smaller, insurance is sorted, the bank knows I'll be out of the country and accommodation is booked for the first week.

During our first week we will have a look at some long term accommodation options, unfortunately the places I will be able to stay are limited due to irritant exposure etc. so I will need to be very selective.

The last thing on my to do list is getting a tourist visa, I have posted all documentation to the Thai Embassy in Wellington so here's hoping they accept me! Even though my visa photo looks nothing like my passport photo haha!

I hope you are keeping well!

As always any questions fire them through or follow along on my Instagram @skinderella_nz_

  • Flights are booked!

      14 July 2023

Flights are booked! I will be heading off on 25 September.

It is expected I will flare from the travel and irritants along the way, so I will rest for 2-3 days and then will begin treatment.

Feeling really overwhelmed. Cannot believe in less than 12 hours we have raised more than $3,000. I am so humbled and grateful.

To everyone who has donated, shared, and/or reached out you are incredible and I will always remember this feeling in the middle of what has been the hardest time of my 31 years on this planet.

    I love you all!!!!!!
