Young Ambassador 2016

I have been selected as one of ten Young Ambassadors by the French Embassy in New Zealand, the Ministry of Education and the New Zealand Association of French Teachers to represent New Zealand on a commemoration tour in France in September 2016. We will be visiting sites of significance to New Zealand soldiers and taking part in the World Youth Commemoration Day on September 15th 2016 along with thousands of other young people from all over the world. As part of this trip, we must undertake a personal project that explores a personal connection to the war, and ultimately builds friendship and understanding between our two countries. I am interested in exploring my great-grandfather’s journey as a soldier on the Western Front along with the involvement of former pupils from my school, Dilworth.
