Tukaha's Journey

$7,500 of $10,000 goal
Given by 137 generous donors in 8 weeks

Fundraising to support Tukaha, a brave young boy having cancerous spinal tumour and paralysis, helping ease the cost of his treatments.

Northland

Tukaha has always been a happy, active boy. The kind of kid who is always on the go, full of life, laughter, and energy.

Two weeks after his 9th Birthday, everything changed. He suddenly became unwell and was diagnosed with a rare cancerous tumour on his spine. The tumour caused severe pain and paralysis, turning his world and his family’s upside down.

He has already been through so much. Tukaha underwent major surgery, spent time in PICU, and bravely pushed through radiation treatments. After weeks in hospital, he began rehabilitation and worked so hard to regain his strength.

Then came the news no family ever wants to hear, the radiation didn’t work, and doctors told them there were no other treatment options available.

Refusing to give up on their boy, Tukaha’s family kept searching. They have since found another doctor who is willing to work with Tukaha using frequency healing and natural therapies. This has given them a new sense of hope but it is still a race against time.

We are asking for support to help ease the financial pressure during this difficult journey. Donations will go towards these new treatments, as well as the ongoing costs of travel and accommodation as the family does everything they possibly can to help heal their boy.

They are determined to try every option, leave no stone unturned, and fight with everything they have for Tukaha.

Every donation, no matter how small, truly means the world.

2% Effective Fee
On average, fundraisers pay just 2% to use Givealittle. This is one of the lowest effective fees in New Zealand fundraising. We charge a 5% platform fee to cover the cost of running the platform. Because most donors choose to top up their donation to cover this fee, the effective cost paid by fundraisers is about 2%. That means around 98 cents of every dollar raised goes to the cause.
