Earlier this month villages and cities across the northern Philippines were ravaged by the typhoon Mangkhut (locally known as Typhoon Ompong) which brought winds of over 240km per hour.
We would like to raise money for Pamplona town in the Cagayan Valley in Northern Luzon. Many houses throughout the town and surrounding barrios lost their roofs including umpteen small 1 room Nippa thatched huts that house large indigenous families in a tiny cramped space. The local school Pamplona institute lost 4 classroom roofs, the roof of the gymnasium, and flooded the Canteen.
All money received will be sent to Bessie Bangalan based in Pamplona, who is overseeing the rebuild of The Pamplona institute and will distribute the funds accordingly.
This is family's village in the North of the Philippines, my mother grew up here and a lot of my family still live here.
The money will be spent on rebuilding Pamplona town's roofs and flood damaged buildings. If the target is exceeded, the money will be spent on rebuilding the neighbouring town's damaged buildings.
