A campaign to raise funds to support Tyson and his family while he battles Leukemia… AGAIN!
Waikato
As you all know Tyson was diagnosed 9/3/2020 with very high risk B-cell Hypodiploid Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. It is rare, aggressive and had a very high risk of relapsing.
He went into remission on the 21/07/2020!
He was 3 months away from finishing treatment when he found a lump in one of his testicles, he was sent for an ultrasound and 2 days later they called us and said they think it’s come back, Tyson and his family went up to starship on the 6/4/22 where they told it’s 100% leukemia and he’s def relapsed in the testicles. The 11th of April was his official relapse date, he started treatment on the 12th. Tysons parents have made the decision to move to Auckland for a year as he will most likely be in hospital for a year straight.
To put it into perspective 10% - 15% of children with ALL in remission will relapse. And 1%-2% of males will relapse in their testicles.
Tyson and his parents update everyone regularly on their instagram page @bubbas_all_journey so for more information or ways to support Tyson and our family go check that out 😊
Tyson Hollran is my first cousin with his parents being my Aunty and Uncle.
Any funds will be gratefully received by Tyson’s parents and used for travel expenses to and from Hamilton, organising care for Tyson’s siblings and other expenses incurred while Tyson is receiving treatment.
Grateful 11 May 2022
Wow, what an awesome start!!
Just wanted to say hi and thankyou we are so grateful for all your donations!!
Unfortunately this time around, Tyson’s cancer is a lot more complicated than we originally thought.
They’ve never seen his sort of cancer here in nz or overseas so they don’t have a clear cut treatment plan, its a bit of a trial and error with his treatment.
At the mo we are in the rmh waiting for his bloods to recover so we can get started on his high doses of chemo.
After 2 weeks of that they will have another look at him and by then we are hoping he will be in remission and we can continue the road of chemotherapy over 2 years.
Thankyou so so much for your continued support with donations and messages.
It never goes unoticed.
Awhi (Toni) and Alex (Tyson’s parents)
