Help with the financial pressure of playing for New Zealand U21 Men at the Sultan Johor Cup in Malaysia.
Otago
Hi Everyone,
Thanks for taking the time to look at my page my name is Jordan Ward, I’m 20, live in Dunedin, work part time at McDonald’s and currently working towards a Bachelor of Science at Otago Uni.
I play hockey and have been fortunate enough to have been selected for 4 tournament teams this year, Southern Men’s U21, University of Otago Men’s, Southern Men’s National Hockey League and recently, Hockey New Zealand U21 Men’s Team.
While it’s obviously a great honour to be selected for these teams, especially the Hockey New Zealand U21 Men’s team, Hockey at this level is self-funded.
With payment for the New Zealand U21 Men’s tour to Malaysia for the Sultan of Johor Cup coming up, I’d like to ask for a little financial help if at all possible please. The cost of this tournament has been estimated to us at around $3600
The Sultan of Johor Cup is a week long International Hockey Tournament held in Malaysia, featuring teams from Australia, Great Britain, India, Japan, Malaysia and New Zealand.
this tournament has been a goal that I have worked toward for many years. My Parents have always completely backed my siblings and I, who are all involved in representative level sport. Unfortunately, my part time wages do not cover a lot and I thought I would create this page to try to help with the financial pressure.
Thanks again for taking the time to look at my page and a huge thank you if you are able to contribute to my sporting aspirations.
Cheers,
Jordan
The funds raised will be used to help offset the cost of representing New Zealand U21 Men at the Sultan of Johor Cup
