    This bundle of energy is keeping us on our toes. They have lived with us for the last month. Right now we are helping support approx 15 Ukrainians with simple things like a free room to weekly grocery deliveries, and of course the family at our house.

    With all the paperwork over to register in this country ee have started looking to find them their own house so they can keep moving forward and we can help more people

  • Another Family Housed

    Yesterday while in Sofia Katie called and said she had coordinated with multiple people we are working with to find a house for a group of 5 (3 older woman, and older man and a 17yr old girl) who drove from Mykolaiv, Ukraine.

    I took Polly (staying with us) to be my translator and two of their group to the supermarket and got them to fill a trolley of stuff they need as they had no food and the place we found is a village out our way.

    Anyways, with the help of 3 different contacts of ours we know have them in their own house for the time being. Katie will be visiting them today to help with anything else they need.

  • Putting $$ to work Directly

    People are arriving here with with little to nothing, sometimes just a back pack, dehydrated, and confused. We answered the call for urgent hygiene supplies. Katie and I couldn't make it in to the city, but our neighbors daughter could so she got the supplies needed.

    More and more people are contacting Katie daily, and there are less palces for people to stay. Families are reaching out from Poland saying there is no accommodation left.

  • Filling the car with essential supplies

    We are helping Open Doors foundation and Zadobroto (both NGO / non-profits) who have come together and are running the Situational Center in Sofia to help refugees arriving. They were running low on essentials the other day so Paulina and Christina (Ukranian) helped me filled the car up and dropped it off

  • Miek takes in a family for the night

    A group of 4 arrived early morning yesterday at Mikes. They needed a place to sleep for a day before heading to the coast. The family of 3 moved on while one has stayed for now. Mike played with the young boy to give his mum a break

  • Grant and Alison Drop off Toys and Food

    This afternoon while Katie worked to help find more families places to stay Grant and Alison drove out to drop off toys, books + hold an impromptu English lesson. They are both teachers at the American International school in Sofia

  • New Room setup in our office in the city

    At the start of the week Mike set up a room to accommodate more people our office - Bulgarian people and companies are doing the same. We hope to houce another 3-4 people by tis time next week, but most likely sooner

  • Meet the rest of the family

    I was too tired last night to post any more images but also wanted to share a opic of the entire family. They are in good spirits but are very tired as you would imagine.

    Special thanks to Atanas from the DERIDA Stage (Сцена Дерида) who can be seen in the photo too for helping co-ordinate pickup. They are helping as many families as they can find accommodation
