Running an Ultra Marathon to help Toatakai Karate Team get to the Oceania Championships.
Hamilton, Waikato
Kia Ora,
Nine players from our Club Toatakai Karate are heading to New Caledonia for the Oceania Championship on the 3-7th of June. The expenses for the trip are piling up, so I am running an Ultra Marathon (60km) as a fundraiser to help get them over there.
I first competed overseas in New Caledonia at the 2006 Oceania Champs. Now, I'll be returning there for my first international competition as a coach and competitor, which I'm very excited about. These athletes have continued to train hard over the last couple of years, through multiple lockdowns and with no events on. We can't wait to head overseas to represent club and country, and see all that hard work pay off!
I'll be running the Ultra Marathon on Saturday the 28th May, using the Te Awa river trail between Ngāruawahia and Cambridge.
I know it's a bit last minute, but the team and I would really appreciate any support!
Team Toatakai - Liam Singer, Lola Hennessey, Raukawa Jefferies, Sam Crawford, Dallas Lee, Eledon Ing, Elemer Ing, Keilana Lee and Barney Gill.
All funds will be split evenly between the team members.
I am their coach.
