    With hearts full of gratitude, we bring you the final update on Sara's journey through the UPLIFT trial program. This chapter may be closing, but the impact of your support and the determination Sara has shown will continue to shape her path to recovery in the weeks and years to come.

    The progress has been nothing short of incredible, with her unwavering dedication to each session and her persistence through challenging moments. The results are visible in the newfound strength of her arm and the remarkable strides in her speech. Sara will be continuing similar treatments at home with Klem, fortified by the progress she has made and the lessons she has learned.

    We extend our deepest gratitude to each of you who contributed financially, sent uplifting messages, and kept Sara in your thoughts and prayers. Your kindness has been the driving force behind her, and your belief in her potential has lifted her spirits in moments of doubt. Thank you for being a part of this incredible journey.

  • Week Two Update: The Determination Within

    As Sara's journey in the trial program continues into its second week, we are witnessing an incredible display of determination and progress. She is so determined to conquer every opportunity she comes across in the trial, the effort she is putting in is just astounding.

    Sara is now seeing the progress herself and is putting in as much effort as possible. She is left exhausted at the end of each day, asks for a steak dinner and then an early night. She is now pushed to be active for 54 mins of each hour in therapy (4 hours in total), no breaks and barely time for toilet and drink breaks in between!

    Her speech is also developing. Her hard work is evident as she now adds verbs and adjectives together to form sentences. She is starting to resort more to words, rather than gestures to verbalise her thoughts and to describe the world around her.

    Sara's tenacity and progress are a testament to the unwavering support she receives from you! Her friends, family and all those who have contributed to help her along this journey. As we continue on this path together, lets keep cheering her on, knowing that every ounce of support we offer strengthens her and helps conquer the challenges that lie ahead.

  • Week One Update: Unleashing the Spark of Resilience

    We are excited to share the remarkable progress that Sara has made during her first week in the UPLIFT trial program.

    The journey has been nothing short of brilliant already. Being the sole North Queensland participant, Sara has been the centre of focused attention. Physiotherapists dedicate an impressive four hours a day to her rehabilitation. While the intensity would have exhausted her in the past, her determination to succeed here shines through. She now manages almost the same hours per week participating in the trial as she did in her previous employment.

    The use of custom-built yet simple tools has proven to be a game-changer. These innovative aids have rekindled some movement in her arm, allowing her to push beyond her previous limitations. Witnessing her arm regain some of its mobility has been nothing short of awe-inspiring, and we are stoked to see the transformation taking place.

    Speech therapy combined with hand and arms movement is helping her to learn functional sentences, and has also surprised us with heartfelt expressions, like telling Klem, "We are in this together." She is learning to say each family members name which really sparks joy with the grandkids! As the days unfold, it's not just her body that is reawakening but also her spirit. Parts of Sara's personality are beginning to shine through.

    Your unwavering support has been instrumental in making this journey possible, and we cannot thank you enough for being the guiding light in Sara's life.
