“Jaime & Josh’s twins are in hospital with RSV. With no paid leave, they need help covering travel, bills & family costs.”

Stanmore Bay, Whangaparaoa

Two and a half weeks ago, Jaime and Josh welcomed their beautiful twins into the world at 36 weeks by C-section. Jaime spent two weeks in hospital before their birth, and then a week until bringing the twins home.

Sadly, things have taken another difficult turn. At just two weeks old, both twins have been admitted to hospital with RSV/bronchiolitis. They are currently at Waitakere Hospital, and we don’t yet know how long they will need to stay. This is especially hard on their older children (aged 4 and 6), who are missing their parents after Jaime’s long hospital stay before the twins were born.

Financially, this situation will putting a lot of strain on the family. Because Jaime is a full-time stay-at-home mum, they don’t qualify for government-funded paternity leave. Josh was supposed to be going back to work this week as he has used up all leave available.

Any further time Josh takes off work to be at the hospital is unpaid, which creates a real gap in their income. On top of that, there are the costs of petrol, hospital parking, and keeping the household running with two little ones at home.

If you’re able to contribute—whether through a donation or by sharing this page—it would make such a difference. Your kindness will help ease the immediate financial pressure and give them the chance to focus on what matters most: their children’s recovery and wellbeing.

Thank you so much for your generosity and care.

We are so thankful for the incredible generosity we’ve received. We arrived home today, and thanks to your support, Josh is able to stay off work until the end of the week to help me monitor the babies.

Georgie needed a couple of days on oxygen and Alfie had a few days with a feeding tube, but they’ve come through the worst of it. RSV can be really tough on such tiny babies, so we still need to keep a close eye on them. Knowing Josh can be here with us during this recovery time means the world to us.

From the bottom of our hearts — thank you. ❤️
