Urgent Kidney Transplant for Christopher Howard in Auckland Hospital

My aim is to raise funds for my daughter's Partner Christopher Howard who is 26 years old. He is type 1 diabetic and has been battling with it since the age of 13. He has just been put on Dialysis which means going into Wellington hospital every second day. In a couple of weeks he will be doing it every night. He is at the moment going through the process of getting put on a wait list for a pancreas kidney transplant which they are aiming to have him on this within 3 months at the latest. Once he is on this list a call could come through at anytime, day or night and they will have to be on the next plane. He is priority so will be first on the list.

Unfortunately this can not be done here in Wellington hospital so Chris and his Partner (Chanelle) have to travel to Auckland for anywhere around 6 to 8 weeks for his transplant. This is a very serious operation which sees Chris needing to be close to Auckland Hospital even when he is discharged. He will be attending hospital appointments in Auckland everyday after this opp so they can keep a close eye on him. This will entail costs for accommodation, food, transport to and from the hospital while he is recovering and also money will be needed for flights for Chanelle to travel to and from Auckland, to support Chris before and after the operation.

With Chris unable to work, and Chanelle needing to take time off work for this, she will be with out any income over this period of time, and the hospital funding only for Chris's medical expenses etc we are asking for help from Family and Friends. So please if you can ... give a little.
