Bodybuilder told he would never walk again needs Urgent Spinal Rod Surgery

Pohatu Higgs is a 28year old Maori man living with a chronic disability called Chiari Malformation.

He was diagnosed in 2014 after experiencing a number of severe symptons including loss of feeling & function in his lower body and legs, excruciating migraines

loss of pain receptors & sensation in his limbs & other parts of his body, internal organ deterioration, loss of eyesight,scoliosis, tethering of the spinal cord just to name a few.

He has undergone multiple brain & spinal surgeries since being diagnosed to stop his condition getting worse.These surgeries have left him with paralysis in his legs Told it was impossible to walk again sheer determination & hardwork with rehabilitation Pohatu defeated the odds.

Unfortunately his condition has started to deteriorate & is in need of URGENT SPINAL ROD FUSION SURGERY to straighten his spine & take the pressure off his spinal cord.This will prevent Pohatu from being left paralyzed & in a wheelchair for the rest of his life.

Pohatu has a 1year old son who is his number 1 priority & the thought of not being able to run around with him,play sports,teach him everyday skills many of us as parents take for granted breaks his heart.

Pohatu has a scheduled surgery date of 10 November 2022 so any support big or small would be truly amazing & very much appreciated
